I heard a totally awful interview with Ari Emmanuel advocating FOR the merger. His (sophistic) points were (a) the movie business isn’t the same; (b) streaming is the new normal and has vastly expanded the amount of worldwide content, so (c) a Paramount/Warners merger actually represents just a teeny tiny share of the overall market and would just be a blip on the landscape. He shilled further for Ellison by repeating Ellison’s promise to make a combined 30 films a year - but of course no mention of CNN, news, Trump or any of those other insignificant factors. I had thought the guy had some slight principles. I wanted to throttle him. 😎
