the glasses aren’t half anything anymore; we’ve wrapped the natural world in plastic

Last week, word started going round. The sitchu in the FKATFB just dropped several notches. And then some.

The prognosis for the non-corporate filmmakers of all breeds isn’t looking too good anytime soon. The wise will find opportunity in the hopelessness. And for those that are willing to do the bigwigs bidding, best gulp down that rosé in a single swallow as the shaggy sunset will soon shatter your greying days. Soon it all will be gone, gone, gone. Why? Because we are all such suckers.

The word I heard last week was — is — evidently three of the Global Streaming Platforms (GSPs) have made offers on new film projects with the oh-so-compelling offer of no minimum guarantee (MGs). Yup. You got that right: they now want to pay you NOTHING for your work. At least not upfront.

Hope For Film is not afraid to tell you what THEY don’t want you to know. We give you new Hope, a path to NONDependence. Sign up. This is why you are now here. Do it.
